Brandi Knight, MPH

Brandi Knight was appointed Administrator for the Florida Department of Health in Leon County in July 2022. Mrs. Knight previously served as the HIV/AIDS Section Administrator in the Bureau of Communicable Diseases, Florida Department of Health.

Mrs. Knight has over fifteen years in public health, with experience spanning community engagement, program and organizational strategic planning, quality improvement initiatives, and collaboration with local, state, and national partners. Mrs. Knight worked in the HIV/AIDS Program from 2006-2008, then moved to work at the Houston Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of HIV/STD and Viral Hepatitis Prevention as a Senior Health Planner. During this time, Mrs. Knight implemented initiatives such as Candid Conversations focused on engaging black women aged 25-44 in sexual health conversations.

Mrs. Knight served as a Program Evaluation Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from 2012-2015, before returning to DOH-Leon where she served as the Community Planning Manager.

Mrs. Knight received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Tuskegee University in 2002, Master’s in Public Health from Florida A & M University – Institute of Public Health in 2008 and is a Certified Quality Improvement Associate by the American Society for Quality.
