Florida Department of Health in Leon County Joins Partners at Nomi Health and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare to Open New COVID-19 Test Site

Tallahassee, FL --- The Florida Department of Health in Leon County (DOH Leon) has teamed up with key community partners:  Nomi Health and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare to open a new COVID-19 testing site to help with increased demand for tests.

Nomi Health opened its new walk-up testing site Saturday, January 8, on the campus of  Tallahassee Memorial Hospital (1528 Surgeons Drive) in the rear parking lot. The site offers rapid testing and PCR testing.  Appointments are not required. The site is open 7 a.m.- 7 p.m., seven days a week.

This is the third COVID-19 testing site that Nomi Health has opened in Tallahassee.

The other two are located at the DOH Leon Administration Building (2965 Municipal Way) and at Huntington Oaks Plaza (3840 N. Monroe Street). These are drive-through sites that operate by appointment only.

“Leon County is doing very high levels of testing right now, and DOH Leon will continue doing everything possible in collaboration with our partners to help meet the huge demand for COVID-19 tests, said Sandon S. Speedling, MHS, CPM, CPH, DOH Leon Interim Health Officer.

Please note the Florida Department of Health recently issued updated testing guidance and recommendations to maximize the benefits of COVID-19 testing in Florida. The Department’s guidance emphasizes testing for those at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19.

In addition to getting tested, DOH Leon continues to urge everyone to get vaccinated if they haven’t already and to get boosted if they are eligible.
