DOH Leon | Nomi Health Close COVID-19 Testing Site at Municipal Way

Tallahassee, Fla – The Florida Department of Health in Leon County (DOH Leon) and Nomi Health closed their drive-through COVID-19 testing site at 2965 Municipal Way because demand for testing has declined in recent months.

Friday, May 20, 2022, was the final day of operations at the site located at the Department’s Administration Building (2965 Municipal Way).  Since it opened on August 23, 2021, the Municipal Way site has performed some 45,670 tests.

During a surge in new COVID-19 cases that began in late December of 2021, DOH Leon/Nomi Health testing sites were averaging close to 1,000 tests per day.

DOH Leon will continue supporting COVID-19 testing operations at its two other Nomi Health locations:

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare
1528 Surgeons Dr Tallahassee FL 32308
Huntington Oaks Plaza
3840 N Monroe St Tallahassee FL 32303

“We are thankful to Nomi Health for this continued partnership and for stepping up to keep DOH Leon on the leading edge of the COVID-19 response,” said Sandon S. Speedling, MHS, CPM, CPH, DOH Leon Interim Health Officer

“The teams who are working at these testing sites have endured some of the worst conditions, from extreme heat and cold. They are incredibly appreciated, and we are grateful for their service and dedication to this community.”
