HEALTH DEPARTMENT IN LEON COUNTY AND PARTNERS OFFERS FREE HIV TESTING
--Confidential and quick, results in 20 minutes, Wednesday, June 24, 9 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.,
Roberts & Stevens Clinic, 1515 Old Bainbridge Road--
Tallahassee–National HIV Testing Day is June 24, 2015. The Health Department in Leon County (DOH-Leon), in partnership with Big Bend Cares and Bond Community Health Center, will provide free comprehensive HIV testing with results available in 20 minutes. The day-long clinic is to remind people of the continuing need to remain vigilant about HIV, which is a major health concern. The clinic will be held at the Roberts and Stevens Building, at 1515 Old Bainbridge Road. Refreshments will be served.
“HIV remains an important issue,” said Claudia Blackburn, RN, MPH, Health Officer for DOH-Leon. “According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, three in ten HIV infections come from people who don’t know they have it. ”
