Leon County Health Department, FAMU, and Bond CMH Partner to offer COVID-19 Testing to the Community

Grass-roots community outreach will serve Tallahassee’s Southside Neighborhood

The Leon County Health Department, Bond Community Health Care, and Florida A & M University are offering walk-up testing for COVID-19 at FAMU’S Bragg Stadium.  It’s part of an effort to make it easier for residents who may have had limited access to drive-up testing.

The first samples will be collected Saturday, April 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or until the daily maximum of 200 samples is reached. Outreach and testing will continue for 14 days at no cost to community residents.

Residents who believe they may have recently been exposed to COVID-19 or recently had symptoms of the virus are encouraged to make an appointment or walk up for testing. The Florida Department of Health will notify individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19, while the Bond Community Health Center staff will call those whose tests are negative. No physician referral is required.

The Leon County Health Department is committed to bringing a testing model that meets communities where they are. Our support will include the appointment scheduling function for the testing site, along with outreach and education.

To make an appointment for COVID-19 sample collection call: 850-404-6399. The phone line will be activated Friday.
