Appointments Available for Back-To-School Immunizations
The Florida Department of Health in Leon County is encouraging residents to schedule an appointment for BACK TO SCHOOL immunizations as soon as possible. Please don’t delay, schedule an appointment with your pediatrician today. Avoiding check-ups and missing vaccines can put a child at risk for preventable diseases such as measles and whooping cough
The Leon County Health Department will be operating an immunization clinic by appointment only this year to eliminate large crowds in the waiting area and to practice social distancing.
Appointments are available starting Monday June 22 until August 10 and can be made by calling 850-404-6356.
Immunization clinic hours of operation:
Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Roberts & Stevens Clinic located at 1515 Old Bainbridge Road, Tallahassee, FL 32303
- Bring a copy of immunization records if available
- Valid Picture ID
NOTE: If your child is due for a vaccine, please contact your family health care provider first, as appointment time slots at the health department may be limited. If that is not possible, then you may call our clinic for an appointment. Our staff can also handle transfers of immunization records.
Please limit the number of people you bring to your appointment to only one adult and the children who need to be immunized if possible, to avoid unnecessary exposure to others.
Temperatures will be taken at the entrance of the health department. If you can, we suggest you wear a face covering when you visit the clinic for your appointment.
To help ensure students are healthy, protected from serious diseases, and are ready to return to school, adults are urged to call today – don’t delay.
Ensuring that routine vaccination is maintained or reinitiated during the COVID-19 pandemic is essential for protecting individuals and communities from vaccine-preventable diseases and outbreaks. Routine vaccination prevents illnesses that lead to unnecessary medical visits, hospitalizations and further strain the healthcare system.
