FAMU Bragg Memorial Stadium Updates Hours of Operation at COVID-19 Test Site

Testing hours are changing to better serve the community and help reduce waiting times for patients

Tallahassee, FL Effective Thursday, November 19, the Florida A&M University (FAMU) Bragg Memorial Stadium COVID-19 testing site will open an hour earlier to better meet the scheduling needs of community residents. The new hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The walk-up testing site will maintain its normal Monday through Saturday schedule, unless there is a threat of inclement weather. The site will be closed for Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26. Visitors will be able to receive a free rapid COVID-19 antigen test (BinaxNOW) that provides results within an hour. No appointment is necessary but pre-registration is recommended by going to the state vendor’s website https://curative.com

The Florida Division of Emergency Management is now supervising operations at the testing site and offers some details on what visitors should expect:

  • The rapid COVID-19 antigen test sample is collected by a health care worker who will gently swab the inside of a patient’s nostrils. This collection process is quick, easy, and comfortable.
  • Testing is free and open to the public. Appointments and walk-ups are accepted. No physician referral or insurance is required for the rapid test.
  • Patients receive their rapid COVID-19 antigen go results within one hour of testing by email or SMS text. The Florida Department of Health receives all patient results and will contact patients with positive results.

The Bragg Memorial Stadium testing site is supported by the Florida Division of Emergency Management, FAMU, and the Florida Department of Health in Leon County. Since opening on April 25, staff have tested more than 85,000 people.
