Water Programs

The Environmental Public Health Division at DOH-Leon works hard to ensure that all public sources of water are safe and free of risks to your health.

About Our Water Programs

Our Water Inspection Programs include the following:

  • Swimming Pools and Spas - check on the inspection results of your favorite public swimming pool or spa.
  • Drinking Water - there are a lot of places that provide drinking water to visitors and/or residents and we check to make sure the water is free of health risks.
  • Well Surveillance - we monitor and ensure that wells are free from harmful contaminants.

Definitions for these systems and statutory authorization are found in section 381.0062 of the Florida Statutes. Chapter 64E-8 of the Florida Administrative Code establishes the rules to implement the statutes. It includes setback standards for private water systems, construction standards for multi-family water systems, and construction and operation standards for limited use public water systems.
