STD Services

Appointments

The Sexually Transmitted Disease Prevention Program's mission is to stop the spread of STDs -- including gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and HIV -- as well as treat and/or refer to community health care partners anyone who has been diagnosed with one or more of these diseases.

STD prevention staff working out of DOH-Leon serve the following Big Bend and Panhandle counties: Leon, Bay, Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Liberty, Madison, Taylor, Wakulla, and Washington.

Test and Treat

We provide strictly confidential testing, treatment, and counseling to anyone exposed to or diagnosed with an STD.

Our proactive approach helps protect infected individuals, their partners and unborn children from serious complications that may result from untreated STDs.

Anyone diagnosed with an STD who is receiving our services is encouraged to take advantage of our partner referral service, which includes notification and treatment of their partners. This service is provided on a voluntary basis and is strictly confidential.

Community Outreach

Staff educate the general public on how to recognize the symptoms of these diseases, as well as offer information on prevention, treatment and services available to area residents.

In addition, staff are available to conduct screenings and educational presentations at health fairs and wellness events on request.

Most services are based on your ability to pay, on a sliding scale fee. Many Medicaid services are provided as well. Please call for an appointment.
